This is a composite of this morning’s total lunar eclipse (April 15th). Lots of photo shop was involved, but if you don’t see all the stages of the eclipse; it’s just not as effective. I took over 600 pictures and combined 10 of them for this image. The clouds cooperated and we were able to gather with friends at Cadron Settlement Park’s boat ramp for a night of laugh and picture taking. The moon’s position at the Park was great for photographing; it was positioned directly over the Arkansas River. The weather was very cold for April in Arkansas, but the conditions couldn’t have been better for capturing the night’s sky.

On 7/26/13 we drove to Denver to take our teens to a concert. While they were there we visited a wildlife sanctuary and after that we had nothing to do. So we looked at the radar and seen something in Wyoming headed south east. Eh why not? As we neared Fort Morgan the impromptu chase was on and we ended up seeing one of the most beautiful shelf clouds we have ever seen. I already shared a different view of it. This is the view as it was approaching.

This shot was taken a few years ago. I don’t have access to the EXIF info because it’s on backup drives and frankly, it would just take too long to find Hope you like it anyway.

Last nights Blood Moon from Albury, Australia. It was a pity there was a breeze blowing, but it still didn’t come out too bad for a point and shoot…on a tripod.

I know this is not a spectacular composite sequence of the eclipse but I thought I’d share my efforts anyway. This is a single shot exposure captured in the Northern Territory Australia.
Taken with a Nikon 70 - 200mm f/2.8 + 1.4x extender and gimbal head support.
