Follow Jesse “Chasing the Beast” I spent almost 2 hrs on this massive supercell/meso merge yesterday east of Amarillo, north of I-40 in the tornado-warned box areas. The images and perspectives of this storm will fill my archives for many years. We were in awe as I dashed in and out from under the core; sometimes without radar or communications while it was bearing down on us north of Groom. Ok, I REALLY don’t know how to narrow it down from yesterday in the Panhandle. Not even sure this is my fave, there are just so many, but I’ll start with this one today.

Was making the best of the clear night skies, Wednesday evening, in the West Australian wheat belt, photographing the milky way and some grass trees when I noticed an orange/red light showing up on my pics. I realised that it was the Aurora Australis, quickly adjusted the comp to include that, enjoy

The mammatus yesterday, April 16th, 2015 in the Texas panhandle was incredible. I pulled off to take a picture and use these pine trees for some contrast. It ended up looking like a painting! Great day altogether.
