Follow Chris ‘‘Pilger Will Be Back!’ Following storms yesterday and hoping for mammatus at sunset, I never really considered how close I was getting to Pilger, Nebraska. That town that was ravaged by the twin tornadoes on June 16th. Looking at a map as I headed down the road from Norfolk I decided I’d take Highway 15 to make my last jog south for sunset. When I turned I realized I was going into Pilger. I had to stop. The scene there even 2 weeks later after a massive clean up effort is pretty devastating, but much like the sunset and this sign, there was a air of hope around the place. I made a few frames and the scene make me think before I headed back home for dinner. Those folks are gonna need some help for awhile.
