The deadly El Reno tornado touches down under a mesocyclone that was almost on the ground. This tornado quickly became multi-vortex, then transformed into a large wedge before further intensifying and growing into the widest tornado ever measured at 4.2km wide. The deadly El Reno tornado touches down under a mesocyclone that was almost on the ground. Supercell in Stinnett, TX may 18th 2010. This supercell had a large rotating wallcloud with a funnel cloud over Dumas half an hour earlier, but finally produced a brief tornado right after this photo was taken. The start of the funnel cloud can actually be seen to the right of the precip core

Another photo from our Australia Day storm chase through the Darling Downs region in QLD, Australia. This is 5 shots stitched together as a pano of a storm that had just produced nearly baseball sized hail. Great day chasing with good mates!

This is one of a series of composites I put together of that epic lightning storm in Pretoria, South Africa on the 4 January 2014. I’ve posted a few of them so I’m not sure if I’ve posted this one already. Anyway, that was one hell of an epic light show I’ll never forget. Likes and comments much appreciated.
