We got to our target area in Eads, CO yesterday and had concerns. It was cold. In the time frame of about twenty minutes everything turned around. The tornado happened really quick and I was lucky enough to capture this image.

This is one of my fave images of a textbook supercell during my 2013 US chase trip. We were situated on Hwy 70 E of Broken Bow, Nebraska at the time the barrel crossed the highway. There was quite a large inversion in place on this particular day (May 26) which delayed TS development and in the end it probably did us a really big favour holding out so long. Special thanks to Dick McGowan on this chase too.

As twilight faded into the blue hues of night to our western horizon, brilliant flashes of cloud-to-ground lightning lit up and saturated the colors to our north, creating a brilliant display of a variety of colors hardly seen with the naked eye. In 99% of situations, our eyes see much better than a camera ever could. In those last 1% of situations, a long-exposure photo can bring the sky to life. SW Oklahoma, April 10th, 2016.

This is a single frame from a timelapse I did of this spinning electrified cell moving across the Kansas River Valley west of Lecompton, Kansas just after sunset. It was very loud. The timelapse includes some sounds of recorded thunder. I sometimes remember to bring field mics with me for recording nature’s orchestration.

Beautiful tornado warned supercell near Stratford, TX yesterday afternoon. It was crazy to see the immense amount of dust get kicked up from this beast.

Storm season is now pretty much dead and dusted here in Northern Australia, apart from the far northern areas closest to the equator. Lonnnngggg dry season ahead, El Nino ensured we had a below average season rainfall and thunderstorm wise. Cyclone season was a massive Bust. Bring on next season. - Charters Towers Queensland
