This beautiful rainbow appeared on what had been a rather miserable morning at Lake Moogerah, Australia in June 2015. The reflection making it looking ‘larger’ than your typical rainbow.

The dying stages of the Simla/Matheson supercell with its innards laid bare….the closer updraft with the inflow tail and shrinking beaver was where the anticyclonic tornado was located….this is where the storm became complicated despite the anticyclonic tornado existing the upper parts of the updraft column were rotating cyclonically !…..the rotation actually reversed above 15/20.000 feet….the storm had topped out near 60.000 feet…how to categorise this storm?….to us it looked like a large (very large !) LP type of structure !…4th June 2015

Hi there, first time posting but I have been admiring everyone’s images for ages. Thought I would share one of my favourite images. Taken on the 21st October 2008 just outside Ipswich, QLD, Australia. Still up there as one of the best storm days I have witnessed to date.

A supercell thunderstorm near Dighton, KS taken last spring May 27, 2015. This storm at this point was near the end of its mature cycle and was slowly growing weaker but the structure and colors where amazing to see. Earlier in the afternoon this storm produced several short lived tornadoes. That was a very successful chase day.
