Follow Christopher A pair of powerful thunderstorms popped up over the Grand Valley late in the evening and proceeded to put on a show over Fruita and Grand Junction, Colorado, as seen from the Independence Monument Overlook in Colorado National Monument. Though the ground strikes had diminished somewhat by the time the storms moved over Grand Junction, the cloud-to-cloud strikes really lit up the heart of the storm moved over Grand Junction, the cloud-to-cloud strikes really lit up the heart of the storm.

Follow Vanessa This is my photo of another shot I took of “Country Roads.” I walked up past the white fence to get a deeper view of Autum and the different shades of leaves. My Dad built this special road for a dear friend of his who built a beautiful mansion that sits at the top of the hill. This is in northeastern Kentucky on Rockgate Road in Flatwoods, Kentucky. You can get there to see this beautiful place from either Indian Run Road, Short Holler, or turn left off of Route 207. I call this one “Country Roads 2.”

Notice the “bolt from the blue” striking many miles from the cell and the “cloud-to-air lightning” captured in the shot.
