I shot this on the 27th of November 2013. Johannesburg South Africa experienced a thunderstorm that lasted well over 2 hours with some of the most intense lightning activity in years. This photographs was taken over 10 minutes and consists of 43 exposures all from the same vantage point. I basically stacked all the exposures and then just added clarity and contrast in Lightroom. I shoot in bulb, with 100 ISO at F./11 and aim at exposing for 4 seconds. Leaving the shutter open too long dilutes the effect of thee lightning.

Wall cloud on severe storm May 26, 2013 northeastern Mason Co, IL..Edited half B & W to bring out a little more definition. Was standing on the roof of my car and trying not to get zapped, so that’s why the picture isn’t level.
