Follow Brad My first ever red sprites shooting up to 80km above a distant storm complex (hundreds of km’s away). Look to the left of pic if you’re not sure what red sprites look like. Thanks to Marko Korosec for showing me how to capture this phenomenon.

Severe storm complex overtaking Otterbein, IN last weekend. I got caught in the leading edge of this thing for a few minutes; it was a real bear to drive through with horizontal wind-whipped rain curtains and near-zero visibility.
