“Aurora Unicorn” Sometimes you get images that appear to be something more. We had an amazing Aurora display on October 17, 2015, east of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. When looking through the images my daughter picked out this one image and was amazed that she could see a unicorn! No photoshop needed to alter the image, it does resemble one to me, what do you think?. Love the amazing beauty of the Aurora Borealis.

For the #structuresaturday thing that seems to be flooding my newsfeed full of other people’s awesome photos at the moment, here’s my Australian effort. July 11 in Quambone, NSW Australia of a mid winter tornadic LP supercell! This photo was a 5 second open shutter high ISO shot right on dusk. It was almost dark at the time but there was enough light still around to illunminate the structure. The damage it ended up causing was consistent with EF2 type damage and had a path close to 80km’s (50 miles +) long but luckily most of it went through rural uninhabited areas.

Nothing compared to photos here that are out of this world, but I had to share my little “curl” in the clouds as we drove through Cabazon, CA. which is off the I-10 in Riverside County. As you head West on the I-10 you will pass the Whitewater Channel and then come up to the those famous Dinosaurs on the side of the road. This is Cabazon, and don’t forget the outlets.
