Follow Josiah North of Galesburg, IL on Monday. In my fairly short chasing experience this is probably as close-up as I’ve been to a tornadic supercell. A tornado with possibly EF-2 strength had been on the ground shortly before I took this picture. Eerie spaceship-looking mesocyclone and lightning bolts flying every which way like sparks from a welder’s torch made this a thrilling chase for sure
