Spectacular single cloud-to.ground lightning (bolt from the blue) strikes outside the main updraft tower of a developing supercell over the Trieste gulf, Italy on July 9th, 2014. I am so glad to stop there and watch the crazy towers going up and started shooting!

I took this yesterday right when the sea breezes were colliding. This is at New Smyrna Beach, Florida at 3pm. This storm got organized about an hour later and provided a good timelapse and structure shots. Details are: f/18 | 1/640th | ISO-250 — at New Smyrna Beach.

RFD Gustnadofest! On 6/1/14 I intercepted this cell at the KS/CO borders which produced serial gustnadoes along its RFD. In this photo there are a daisy chain in height moving from right to left (tallest->smallest). The abandoned outbuilding formed a striking foreground of desolation. This cell later became a large dust storm (I coined the term “dustfront” to describe its weirdness) leading to 0 visibility for some time before dissipating in KS.
