Gorgeous scene on twilight in Moama/NSW just north of the Victorian border Saturday 31st October as fresh cells are illuminated behind the established supercells that were the talk of the day.
Mike Manning
Absolutely incredible day here in South-East Queensland Australia. A triple point fired up a beautifully sculptured classic supercell during the late afternoon with massive bolts punching out of the vault region.

This photo was taken near LaCrosse, KS 25th May 2012. It may seem somewhat of an unremarkable image however this was the closest of a series of smooth channel bolts (captured 20 at least) that were scorching the earth. This is the only time I’ve ever witnessed this phenomenon, and the thunder that accompanied was equally as strange as the blindingly fast behavior of this type of lightning.
