I live in Southern California and have never seen a tornado live. But I fined them fascinating. My family and I drove through Greensburg Kansas a few days after the EF5 tornado in 2007. Wow!

A tornado came through where I live and we got pictures of the tornado, before there was digital, and we took the film to be developed, and the people stole our pictures plus the negatives. We were so mad, but at least we have the memory of seeing a tornado, its a beautiful sight!

last Saturday,we had forecasts for scattered rain showers,nothing to fret over on Lake Superior..the sun was out,i was watching my wind mobile on the tree..it was blowing from the West,then got totally still for a few minutes,oh no,time to beware,even though the skies were blue..wind shifted on a dime,blowing from the North,sun shining,it started to thunder loudly! a sailboat just off the shores of Duluth had a family on it(Parents&2 kids),1st time the parents had taken the kids out on the Big Lake all year..their 9 year old was struck by lightning,flung out of the boat,they did cpr on him,1st responders were having trouble finding access to the victim,the whole family ended up in the hospital,my heart breaks for this family,the 9 year old boy didn't make it..what a freaky weather tragedy

As an amature photographer, Weather is my pictures of choice. Being in Wisconsin, we dont get alot of tornadoes or super cells for that fact. Im looking fo someone who wants company on a chase in the central plains to see what nature has to offer and get some money making photos and video and develop a friendship. Growing up in Kansas I remember many a tornado siren going off. The worst one was when my brothers house was destroyed. His truck landed a quarter mile away. He lived west of Mayetta they pretty much lost everything.

Unfortunately I have no twister stories myself as I was too young to remember seeing them but my parents lived in Fowlerville Michigan in the 1950's and had a tornado set a Semi Trailer truck in our front yard with the truck driver inside , the driver climbed out of the truck and ran in our house unhurt ....

I have been fascinated with tornados since I was a kid in Indiana....never studied weather, but have been reading and following everything I can. Love the art of mother nature!

Always been a weather Geek. I never had to "chase". They come to me. I am all over the state of Kansas with my job. I have some spectacular pictures of the storms, tornadoes, sky sites I have encountered. In one day I could experience beautiful 80 degree sunshine, torrential downpours, tornadoes, hail and snow. Seriously. I drive from one end of the state to the other daily. So you might say I get paid to chase. Love to meet you sometime.

I have always loved stormy weather. I remember playing in the rain and thunderstorms as a little girl. I even went outside to watch the lightning. I knew very little about the dangers back then! After living thru the tornado outbreak of 1974, I have always been fascinated by the weather.

I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, but the first time I saw a funnel-cloud was in Moline, Illinois. It rotated over our Interstate 74 bridge into Iowa...It later crossed back over the Mississippi River further north then developed into a full-blown tornado that did damage to Port Byron and Cordova, Illinois. The Nucular Power Plant was not damaged, fortunately, and no one was killed, but there was defiantely some damage. I love weather!

Have lived in Nebraska 50 years and have never seen a tornado, mom and dad always made me go down stairs, and also made me afraid of storms, it was'nt until a few years ago I decided to take a chance and go out on my own to see what I could see, couple of times I think I should have stayed home. Last year went on a chase tour, that did'nt work out, but with the people I met, I am going again this year.

Im from East Tennessee, we had some tornadoes in this area a few weeks ago. It tore up a town several miles down the road from where i live.It was an F2 storm! Very scary to me!!

Since I was a kid 2 things were always of great interest to me, weather and the universe. Although star gazing and learning the stars and planets, weather has always been tops for me. Since I was young I have studied weather. I like looking at weather maps, satellites and following radar. Heck, even some folks at work come to me when they want a forecast :-). I've never yet seen a tornado, but I do like to go out and look for storms when I am off work.My goal someday is to take time off work and work with a small group of storm chasers, to see them IN PERSON in action. I took a SkyWarn class last year and will take another this year because I enjoyed it so much I am going to take another class but this time, our local meteoroligist will be putting it on. Hello, until recently I had a phobia of tornadoes (lilapsophobia). I have recovered from this phobia and I promised myself that as part of my celebration of my recovery, I'd go on a storm chase sometime. I live in NE Oklahoma. I've seen some tornadoes and almost came within 1 mile of one once. I bet you guys probably are familiar with people with lilapsophobia, right? IT really is stubborn!

I have enjoyed reading your news and updates on tornadoes, it makes me excited and wanted to be a storm chaser since I was a kid and still do..=] so I hope one day Id get to witness a tornado and Im very familiar with the cautions and what to do if a tornado warning happens. Adventure rocks

I was in 8 Hurricanes in 18 months from 6/1/2005 to 11/30/2005 and had Hurricane Wilma drop a tornado over my house in Homestead Florida and destroyed it resulting in me moving myself and my family back home to berryville arkansas where i witnessed by cloud formation the joplin tornado last may

Amazing insight to the world of chasing. From watching lightening storms in the desert of CA, to standing on the roof of my garage with a camcorder and police scanner watching the clouds swirl, to the now late nights watching radar and retweeting, I am obsessed. I may finally get the chance to see first hand a tornado as I will be in KS this summer, God willing. You inspire me to push on to learn more and understand the model data and radar signatures. Watching the weather and feeling the excitement of a good, rowdy weather day started back when I was very young. My dad was the best weather man ever! He would stand on the front porch, thumbs hooked in his front pockets and me at his side, and watch...never saying much...He would point to a cloud and tell me that THAT cloud was going to cause problems. I never knew what he saw, but he was most always right. I learned not to fear the weather, but have respect for it. My dad passed away and anytime I see feisty clouds, it makes me think of him. So, chasing storms is something that he would have liked to do and it is a dream of mine. To feel the heat, and smell the ozone in the air jazzes me up to no end. Thank you Dad for giving me this summertime pleasure!

I storm chase in the Ohio Valley, but it's rather limited what I can see here as we don't get as many tornadoes like you do. Keep up the good work!

Wow, I admire in what the storm chasers do..I am a trained storm spotter and severe weather is my passion..I have DREAMED for a long time to go chasing...Tornadoes FASCINATE me and I have never seen one in live mode! Boy, that would be a dream come true!!

2011 was a real life tornado for me. I was diagnoses with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma cancer in May, began chemo in June, then declared by my doctor to be in full remission in October. Seeing a tornado on the open plains has always been on my "Bucket List," of something to do.

I am a 64 year old lady who has storm chaceing on her bucket lits. I come from the south and have always wanted to see a some up close. What a thrill of a life time. I want to win so bad. Happy New Year

I have only ever seen a funnel, and not a full blown tornado. It has long been a dream of mine to chase, because the power of a tornado has always fascinated me, and to see one in action would check that off my bucket list.

I've yet to see a tornado. Somewhere, sometime. My slogan is "Can't die till I see a tornado!" I would sure like to see one!!!

As a native Oklahoman I have seen my fair share of storms. I have only seen one tornado and it hit Tulsa in December 1977 I think. After that I was hooked, pardon the pun. I would love to chase one time. Call it a bucket wish. I certainly appreciate you guys and thnk you do an awesome job!

My sister and I have been wanting to take a storm chasing trip for (more than) several years now, it is currently at the very tippy top of my bucket list.. (nudge nudge, wink wink! ;) I storm chase on my own around these parts, and have gotten some phenomenal pictures of storm clouds over the years, but alas, no tornadoes...yet. My son is with Asperger's syndrome and is very fascinated with the weather. He absolutely loves watching the storm chasing videos on youtube and wants to be a meteorologist/storm chaser when he grows up. I too have always enjoyed the idea of being a storm chaser.

One of my dreams in life is to storm chase. Ever since I was a little girl I would be glued to the weather channel, especially when there was active weather. I started chasing storms after my husband who was a firefighter at the TVA Brownsferry Nuclear Plant was killed by a careless driver while riding his Honda Goldwing. I sometimes think I have been tempting fate, but I was always amazed and fascinated by storms.

I was five when the tornado bug bit me, had to 40 years to finally see not one, but two together!

I have actually heard a tornado at night but have never seen one. I would love to get a chance to see how they develop, and maybe even see one on the ground.

Tornadoes have been a fascination for years. They show up in dreams all the time, got the Scholastic book when I was in grade school and saw the movie "Twister" in 96. I'm the met guy for our County EOC and help coordinate Spotter Training for the area.

This has been a dream of mine. My husband always wanted to go sky diving and I always wanted to go tornado chasing. we both thought the either one was crazy. My husband recently passed away June 10th of this yr and he never got to go sky diving. I would love the opportunity to complete a life long dream. I use to tornado chase with my brother when he worked for the National Weather Service out of Denver. What an adrenaline rush! I would welcome the chance to do it again.

Keep bringing the great photos. I have grown up on the fringe of Tornado Alley (Iowa) and have seen 2 Tornado's from a distance. Should have gotten into the weather more once in college. In high school I had a big cork board and an Iowa map and color coded yarn and thumb tacks to keep track of bad weather - I was a weather junky! Back before the internet and even weather radios (just keep an ear tuned to the local AM/FM radio stations).

Storms have always facinated me, although scary, im still intrigued...Storm Chasers, although you all put your own lives in danger, have certainly saved many lives... =D

Hi there! I live in N Florida...we have tornadoes here occasionally...but I haven't seen one yet! I've loved severe storms ever since I was a little girl...and I'm 49 as of the 16th of Nov. I hate that people get hurt and property gets destroyed, but I want to see one of those marvels up close and personal someday!!! Just want to do it safely!!! Take care of yourself...and keep up the great work!!!
