The Mackay storm season just keeps on getting better and better - This is without doubt the best start I’ve ever witnessed to the start of the season! I had a good feeling about today, with strong diffluence at 500hPa providing ample lift ahead of a mid to upper level trough. Conditions were primed during the late afternoon/evening with dewpoints pushing past 26c and just after 11pm this nuclear bomb EXPLODED just off the Coast with multiple clear air strikes pulsing 15-20km well away from the storm. This was shot at 17mm and still left the frame! The overshoot was a bohemoth!
