Last Monday here in Fort Worth Texas, I decided to chase a marginal storm day, really just hoping for a few decent landscape photos. Well, around 4:30 in the afternoon, as I approached a vantage point to the southwest of downtown, I observed this storm begin to exhibit downburst signs, and watched it overtake the city(pictured in the right side of this frame). It was an incredible sight!

Here’s a Shot over by Lake Altus Oklahoma on October 4th 2013. Did my Best to get the Colors Right on this one, little tough with that Bolt Over Exposing the Right portion of the shot, but I think I Succeeded. ISO 800 f/8.0 for 6 Seconds. Enjoy

Chasing with Jim Leonard on 5/22/2004, we intercepted the southwestern flank of what became the Hallam, Nebraska, tornado (until last year, the widest tornado on record at 2.4 miles in diameter). The fact that rotation can be seen as high up as the anvil, and that the vertical velocity of the updraft was so powerful, there are undulating ripples in the anvil, speaks to the intensity of this storm. The farmhouse in the foreground really accentuates the low LCLs, and the sheer power of this storm.
