June 3 of this year. On a day there were supposed to be all sorts of tornadoes in eastern NE we gambled and played the upslope farther west in the Panhandle. The tornado outbreak mostly fizzled, and we were rewarded with this complex HP supercell- which was lobbing out softballs at one point.

A marginal early summer chase setup ended up producing one of the most photogenic tornadoes of the year near Traer, Iowa on July 6th 2014. This was a very interesting day as the storm that produced this strong tornado along with 2 others was dropping very little precipitation throughout it’s lifecycle while the storm tops only reached around 30 thousand feet.

Dramatic anvil crawler lightning on sunset after chasing a severe thunderstorm near Annaburroo, Northern Territory Australia. We are now at the end of our dry season and in to the build-up.. Not long to go now before the return of the Top End’s famous sparky beasts!
