Follow Josh 05.19.13: This supercell put a brief tornado on the ground just south of Wichita, KS right before this image. As we encountered more lights, stop signs, and traffic, we let this one go.#2 Marcus Hustedde (188 Likes)

Follow Paige This was from the same night with the epic shelf cloud that everyone in Central Oklahoma posted pictures of last week. Most people went to bed after that initial line moved through, but there were three more rounds afterwards! This was from the fourth and final round of storms at around 4:00 AM. At this point, I had been capturing lightning shots nearly constantly for five hours and I was too tired to try to set up anywhere but inside my apartment complex. The crisp anvil was too much to miss out on, so I ran down to the golf course in the complex (braving the threat of sprinklers, which were running nearby and I feared would switch on soon where I was standing), and got some quick shots to wrap up the night. Not bad for a 0% chance of storms! Nikon D90 with Sigma 10-20mm lens ISO 200 f/8 15 seconds.#3 James Menzies (180 Likes)

Nebraska 19th May 2014. Wasn’t hopeful of much and then this! Only wish I’d moved slightly more to the left to get it right in between the sign posts. Oh well, always next year!
