In honor of reaching 13,000 members in this group, I am sharing one of my very best images of all time! This is the Rozel, KS Tornado in the Sunset. Perfectly positioned to capture this like no other. This tornado would go on to become a big, fat, stovepipe, and was rated EF-4. This tornado was special for me, because it was the first fully condensed tornado I ever captured photos and videos of in my chasing career. Thankfully it didn’t do too much damage. It was beautiful to watch this thing from birth, to death. It’s amazing that what started out as a tiny cumulus cloud, turned into a massive supercell, which formed this beast beneath it. Patience paid off big time on May 18, 2013. Nothing like chasing in the US plains!

Winter is so boring in Florida. Cant wait for the lightning storms of summer to return! This classic Florida thunderstorm approaching Panama City, Florida was in July 2014. Soon the time will be here!

Two rain shafts over an open field may not look too amazing, but throw an old abandoned building in between them, and you get one of my personal faves.

I took this nine image panorama of yesterday evening’s sunset (February 25, 2015) in Lubbock, Texas. The sunsets are one reason I love the South Plains. I happened to be in the right place at the right time to catch this one.
