Follow Aaron Monday I was pretty tired and time was ticking for me to get home for work and sleep. But, how could I continue driving home when such a beautiful lightning display was underway underneath clear skies above? I pulled over near Lake City, Illinois and started snapping away. I was just about to pack up when a big, positive, CG lightning bolt burst out of the clouds! I had originally forgotten I had this image until I went back and looked. Sure glad I did! Man, I love nature.

I had a tricky time shooting this storm because of the rain. My set up was a tripod propped on my lap inside of a car shooting out the window with one leg of the tripod wedged between the door of the car and my leg. Whatever works I guess.
