While the Philippines is still reeling from Super Typhoon Haiyan a new tropical depression will bring more rain and wind to the area today. Zoraida’s movements have been hard to pinpoint as the storms path has been difficult to forecast. A tropical storm is typically not a huge event for the Philippines but due to the ongoing recovery efforts from Haiyan this will make matters worse. Zoraida will likely bring heavy rain and winds up to 30 mph. On top of Super Typhoon Haiyan the Philippines endured a earthquake in October that destroyed more than 350k homes. The final damage estimates from Super Typhoon Haiyan will not be known for some time as many areas are still inaccessible. Government officials have placed the death toll near 10k and this number could rise.
