Beautiful supercell thunderstorm that we chased back on May 18, 2013. This was taken looking south from downtown Benjamin, TX, as this storm wreaked havoc dropping baseball to softball size hail near the town of Weinert

This is the first picture I ever took of a tornado. I can remember hearing the radio reporting a large violent tornado on the ground, but we didn’t have any visual. Then as we came over a hill there it was spinning in the great wide open……April 14, 2012 near Lyons, KS…a day I will never forget.

June 14 2009, near Ulysses KS. We had been following this storm for a couple hours. It hadn’t looked particularly interesting up till that point — outflow dominant, with lots of rain obscuring anything of interest. As we were driving, a casual look in the side view mirror revealed this beast lurking in the rain behind us. Needless to say, we immediately stopped and got some great shots just as the rain cleared for a few minutes. Barely saw any other chasers that day!

Since it seems to be winter photo from northern Illinois night, here is one of mine from last January as we were waiting all night for auroras that never happened… as usual. It was a brutal -13 degrees as we spent hours outside waiting for them to never appear… but it was a night I will never forget regardless! Unlike some people, the only thing about winter that I like is the end.

As fall has drawn to a close in MI a few trees put on one heck of a late show and yesterday, Sunday October 26th was the perfect time to get this pic of this very deep red Red Maple to contrast wonderfully with this very deep blue sky. Pic taken in Jackson MI.

Warrenville, IL - western Chicago suburb, on the grounds of my church last Friday. The weather this past week has been SPECTACULAR. Blue, blue skies as the backdrop to fall colors at their peek. A photographer’s dream I just hate what comes AFTER fall…

Staying with the same day as Brett Wright did yesterday. My Look at the May 19 2013 Carney, Oklahoma. The roar of this tornado was incredible.
